Language Arts Presenter, Mini Lesson 26 (see Additional Notes below)
Time required: 25-30 minutes
By the end of this Mini Lesson, students will be able to...
- define sentence and run on sentence.
- list the three end marks.
- list at least four examples of coordinating conjunctions.
- recognize that when a coordinating conjunction is used to connect two sentences, it must be preceded by a comma.
- recognize that a semicolon can connect two sentences, but a comma cannot.
- list four ways to correct run on sentences.
- demonstrate mastery by correctly responding to 15 multiple choice questions.
Run On Sentences, Full Version, comes with a word search and a crossword puzzle. Additionally, all "Free Trial" stamps have been removed.
With the presentation itself and both puzzles, an entire class period will be needed to complete all of the activities.
