- to avoid confusion.
- to separate introductory elements from the rest of the sentence.
- to separate items in this series.
- to set off interrupters in the middles of sentences.
- to set off nouns of direct address.
- to set off appositives.
In addition, students will recognize correct comma usage in 15 sample sentences.
The Using Commas Part 1, Full Version, comes with a word search and a crossword puzzle. Additionally, all "Free Trial" stamps have been removed.
With the presentation itself and both puzzles, an entire class period will be needed to complete all of the activities.
