By the end of this MicroLesson, students will be able to...
- recognize that literature is the art of writing and the author is the artist.
- list the two main genres of literature.
- recognize that reading is more important today than it was in the past.
- acknowledge that reading is uniquely human.
- list at least nine reasons why people read.
- list at least three benefits derived from reading.
- demonstrate mastery by correctly responding to 15 true or false statements.
The Importance of Reading, Full Version, comes with a word search and a crossword puzzle. Additionally, all "Free Trial" stamps have been removed.
With the presentation itself and both puzzles, an entire class period will be needed to complete all of the activities.
