When loaded with a set of questions, LL Study decides when each question should be attempted, what form it should take when presentd, and when it can be safely rested. It intelligently gives you work and it intelligently lets you rest so that your progress is efficient.

Because the goal of LL Study is to get the information in the questions firmly in your head, each question will be asked more than once. When LL Study first asks a question, you to prove by your reply that you know the correct answer. Once that is proved, it will rest the question for a while, then ask it again so that you can prove you haven't forgotten the answer. If you have trouble, it gives you a bit more work. If you have no trouble, the rest period for the question is increased until the question essentially disappears. As this pattern of review is repeated over a long period of time, what you are trying to learn becomes much more permanantly fixed in your mind.

It would be extremely tedious to keep an accurate record of how you performed on each question so that you could decide which questions need to be reviewed. But a computer loves that kind of tedium. Every time LL Study asks you a question, it records when the question was asked and how well you did. From this information, it decides how long the question can be safely rested and when you should try it again. That way, you don't have to keep track, yet you receive the benefit of the computer keeping track: the right questions - at the right time - in the right form.
