Try The Virtual Guard Dog. This simple-to-use program makes it possible for your computer to "listen" for sounds and "bark" if it hears anything, just like a watch-dog!

You can easily set the listening sensitivity, the level of sound that triggers the "barking", and the duration of the barking when triggered. The included sound file (a large dog barking) can be replaced or added to; the program will randomly select from the sound files you include, or play sounds in the order specified. .
