NorthStar Solutions Announces More New Features
EASILY OFFER YOUR CUSTOMERS CD's
If you sell software or other digital goods, we are sure you will like our latest feature, as we now offer a very easy way for you to give your customers on demand CD's that can even be sold at a profit for you. Additionally, this will help reduce your technical support for people that lose their "download", all the while providing a valuable service to customers that would like a backup CD for their purchase. You need only complete a few new fields in your product details to have this new feature up and running in no time.
The entire process, from capturing the order from the customer, to affixing an attractive color label with your product name on it, to packaging the CD in a heavy mailer, to mailing the CD is conveniently managed for you!!! Another valuable feature is that y our product is retrieved via FTP from the URL you indicate so that you can always ensure you customers are getting the latest version of your product by keeping that download file current.
If you have products that can be used as gifts, now would be an excellent time to send a newsletter to your customers announcing they may purchase your product on CD-ROM just in time for some last minute Christmas shopping. Coupled with a Coupon Code, this great new feature can represent a nice way for you to boost your revenue ...
COUPON DISCOUNTS IN URL's
Speaking of coupons, this feature rolled out a few weeks ago, but bears repeating ... Everyone likes a good deal, and coupons are a nice way to offer items on sale without risking leakage from normal sales. In other words, rather than run a sale that each and every customer will know about and receive (even if they arrive at your store ready to pay full price), you can target specific customers (for example, ones that may have purchased something from you in the past) and entice them to make more purchases of other products or upgrade an existing product at a discount. Many of you have already taken advantage of our coupon feature, wherein you can set up coupon codes that will deduct a percentage or fixed amount from the customer's cart. Coupons can even be set up to expire on a certain date, to only work for certain categories, work only when a specific product is purchased, and/or only trigger once a certain amount has been purchased. The newest feature enables you to provide customers a coupon code within the URL you give them. This provides customers a much more seamless purchase experience with their coupon since it prevents them from having to remember or type the coupon code. With the coupon code in the URL, they are immediately shown the benefit of the coupon discount in their cart total -- adding more psychological benefit to customers. The Quick Start section in the online Help area has been updated to explain you can link to your store and pass coupon codes via URL links.
COMING SOON - SHIPPING MODULES
If you ship products (not CD's noted above, as that will be done for you), we are pleased to announce that we have enabled you to have customers select and add some shipping methods to their carts. A new flag/checkbox will be presented by your product information in a few days wherein you can indicate that shipping is available (just turn off the "disable shipping" flag that will be set by default since that is the way things operate at present). Once activated, customers will be able to select from some popular shipping couriers to dynamically have their shopping carts reflect the shipping charges. You can then adjust your base price since shipping will be added to the cart later. Be sure to check your product information in a few days to activate this new feature. We just couldn't get it done by the time this newsletter went out, but Christmas is coming soon and the CD feature could not wait to be announced any longer.
