NorthStar Solutions Announces More New Features


COUPON DISCOUNTS IN URL's
Everyone likes a good deal, and coupons are a nice way to offer items on sale without risking leakage from normal sales. In other words, rather than run a sale that each and every customer will know about and receive (even if they arrive at your store ready to pay full price), you can target specific customers (for example, ones that may have purchased something from you in the past) and entice them to make more purchases of other products or upgrade an existing product at a discount. Many of you have already taken advantage of our coupon feature, wherein you can set up coupon codes that will deduct a percentage or fixed amount from the customer's cart. Coupons can even be set up to expire on a certain date, to only work for certain categories, work only when a specific product is purchased, and/or only trigger once a certain amount has been purchased. The newest feature enables you to provide customers a coupon code within the URL you give them. This provides customers a much more seamless purchase experience with their coupon since it prevents them from having to remember or type the coupon code. With the coupon code in the URL, they are immediately shown the benefit of the coupon discount in their cart total -- adding more psychological benefit to customers. The Quick Start section in the online Help area has been updated to explain you can link to your store and pass coupon codes via URL links.


BC E-MAIL ADDRESS
You may now associate an optional "BC e-mail" address with your account. If that field has an e-mail address, all correspondence to your usual e-mail address will also be sent to the BC e-mail address. This provides redundancy to ensure you get e-mail notifications, and helps you maintain a private e-mail channel with NorthStar Solutions. To take advantage of this feature, just modify your profile in the Provider Area to add a BC e-mail address for your account.


FEES SHOWN ONLINE
When you view your orders online, the system now displays the NorthStar Fees (NS Fees) and the Net Total due you so you can more easily identify your net profit on each sale, a specific time, or whatever other search criterion you may have used. These two fields are also exportable like the other order details to help you easily load them into a spreadsheet or other offline repository.
