OUR REVIEW
This1942 B&W film is one of the all-time classics and is still very much worth seeing. In fact, like a lot of great movies, it actually gets better if you watch it again -- knowing how some of the scenes play their role as you learn more about the characters. A man (Humphry Bogart) and a woman (Ingrid Bergman) are brought together years later after a romance and parting. It`s apparent they are both still in love, but they must sacrifice their love for a higher purpose during World War II when fighting the Nazis is of utmost importance. Bergman`s character is now with a famous French revolutionist and her part in fighting the war is to support his cause. One of the more interesting characteristics of this film is that the ending is made unknown to the cast. This makes their acting even better as we watch them have to leave us even more undecided about the final outcome -- since even they do not know which way to spin it.
